Long distance march through the foothills of Šumava

We invite you to the jubilee 10th edition of the march, which will take place in November 2026.

This edition is part of the Czecho-Slovak Ultratrail Cup over 100 km and is also the second stage of the EKUT 2026 - 18th edition of the Extreme Combination in UltraTrail.

Ultra Boubín Libín Kleť - 100 km

CSUT LogoThe route will lead along trails and paths from Holubov to Vimperk via three observation towers. The route is part of the EKUT challenge and is ranked in the CSUT cup.

Entry fee: 1300 CZK

Warm showers and refreshments will be available at the finish. Sleeping is possible with your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat.

Refreshments:

There will be four refreshment stations along the route (approx. every 20 km) with hydration and a selection of sweet, salty food, fruit, and hot options.

100 km Route Map

Route length approx. 102 km with approx. 5 km elevation gain

  • The ultra trail will lead through the beauty of the Šumava foothills under whimsical autumn weather. From Holubov quickly over Kleť, through beech and spruce forests to Prachatice. From there jog up to Libín and across the Volovický hill and the Blanice valley around Volary. Before the finish, you might still enjoy snowy views from Bobík, and then hooray over the top of Boubín to Vimperk.

The route will lead from Holubov to Vimperk via a shorter path across three observation towers.

Route length approx. 81 km with approx. 3 km elevation gain

  • The march will lead through the beauty of the Šumava foothills under whimsical autumn weather. From Holubov with a brisk step over Kleť, through beech and spruce forests to Libín and across the Blanice valley around Volary. Before the finish, you might still enjoy beautiful views from Bobík, and then hooray over the top of Boubín to Vimperk.

Shorter Saturday route from Prachatice to Vimperk via two observation towers.

55 km Route Map

Route length approx. 55 km with approx. 2.8 km elevation gain

  • The shorter route starts in Prachatice and then follows the main route, jogging to Libín, across the Volovický hill, and the Blanice valley near Volary. Before the finish, you might still enjoy beautiful views from Bobík, and then cheerfully over the top of Boubín to Vimperk.

Vimperk Boubín Vimperk Route - 30 km

Shortest Saturday route from Vimperk via Boubín in the foothills of Šumava back to Vimperk.

Entry fee: 300 CZK

At check-in, you will receive a control card and route itinerary.
You can leave your belongings at the start/finish area.

Warm showers and refreshments will be available at the finish. Sleeping is possible with your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat.

Refreshments:

There will be no refreshment station along the route; you can stop by a pub in Kubova Huť on the way.

30 km Route Map

Route length approx. 30 km with approx. 1 km elevation gain

  • The shortest route for hikers is a loop on the Vimperk - Boubín - Vimperk route via Kubova Huť.

Transportation and Parking

Holubov

The best way to get to the start in Holubov is by train, so please make use of it.

Train:

Trains depart directly from České Budějovice to the start.

For walkers, it is ideal to take:

  • 17:26 (Train Os8129) ČB → 17:54 Holubov
  • 18:11 (Train Os8115) ČB → 18:38 Holubov

Runners can arrive later:

  • 20:10 (Train Os8117) ČB → 20:37 Holubov

Trains also run directly from Český Krumlov to the start in the opposite direction.

  • 18:57 (Train Os8112) ČK → 19:16 Holubov
  • 20:58 (Train Os8114) ČK → 21:15 Holubov
Bus:

Bus connections to Holubov exist, but not in the evening, so only a few locals are likely to use them.

Parking

Please park in the open space near the railway station platform.

The parking lot behind the municipal office will be closed - organizers will be stationed here and the start will take place from this area.

Vimperk

The finish is easily accessible by direct buses to Prague and trains to Strakonice with transfers to Budějovice and Plzeň.

It is possible to get from the finish to the start using public transport with a transfer in České Budějovice.

Parking

Public parking lots in Mírová street and the Dům dětí parking lot can be used for parking.

Prachatice

The start of shorter routes can also be easily reached by public transport, so please make use of it.

Train + Bus:

The railway stop "Prachatice lázně" is closest to the start, but it's an easy 10-minute walk from both the train and bus stations.

Parking

For parking, you can use public parking lots in Nová street, U Zastávky, Krumlovská parking lot, or the "Areál lesních her" parking lot.
